Yesterday's News
Rooibos Games
Yesterday's News is a hilarious multiplayer party game developed by Rooibos Games. In this game, you and your friends become junior writers at a newspaper on the brink of collapse. The goal is simple: outwit your colleagues to get your headlines published. Brainstorm a pool of words together in the writers’ room, then put your wits to the test as you respond to the editor's prompts. Craft the most side-splitting headlines imaginable by combining your assigned words, and then battle it out as you vote to see who goes to print.
There are a couple of factors that contributed to the game's low carbon footprint and high sustainability rating: First, the fully distributed team members utilized energy providers that were running on renewable energy. Second, the studio prevented excessive emissions by distributing the game digitally as opposed to having a physical component. Finally, each member diligently tracked their energy consumption and hours worked, leading to a fairly accurate estimations supported by primary data.
